The history of the Dos Equis Pavilion is a long one, spanning nearly 30 years and filled with hundreds of shows.

The amphitheater was originally known as Starplex Amphitheatre, due to its original sponsorship by Starplex Cinemas. It opened June 3, 1988 with The Judds playing before a crowd of 12,300 people. There have been seven name changes since then, including Coca-Cola Starplex Amphitheatre (1993), Smirnoff Music Centre (1999), Center (2001), Amphitheater (2003) and Gexa Energy Pavilion (2011).

Since its inception, the venue has been mostly used for music tours but some other projects have come through as well.

In 2001, the venue's first interactive show took place - it was called "Popstars Live in Concert." It was a reality show that aired on the WB Network.

In 2002, WWE held its annual SummerSlam event at the Pavilion; it was also the first time WWE had used a stage rather than a ring during matches in an outdoor arena.

In 2016, the Dallas Cowboys held training camp at the venue.

The Dos Equis Pavilion, formerly known as the Center, Smirnoff Music Centre and Starplex Amphitheatre, is an outdoor concert venue located in Dallas, Texas. It was originally known as the Coca-Cola Starplex Amphitheatre, and opened in 1988. The venue was renamed in 2000 as a result of a naming rights arrangement with Smirnoff Vodka. The venue had a name change in January 2008 when naming rights were sold to In July 2009, the Center's naming rights were sold to CMP Entertainment Media (Coca-Cola) and it became known as the Gexa Energy Pavilion. In January 2013, the venue's naming rights were again sold to Live Nation (Dos Equis) and it became known as the Dos Equis Pavilion.

No smoking inside the venue. No smoking is permitted in the seating area, concourse or restrooms. Smokers may exit the venue through any open gate and re-enter through Gate A with a hand stamped ticket.

No coolers are permitted inside the venue.

No bottles or cans are allowed inside the venue, including water bottles.

No fireworks of any kind are permitted in the pavilion.

No weapons of any kind are allowed within the facility. All guests entering the facility may be subject to a search for prohibited items including (but not limited to) weapons, illegal drugs and alcohol.

With the exception of service animals, no pets are allowed in the pavilion.

No outside food or beverages are permitted into the facility.

Please respect the privacy and enjoyment of others by not using cell phones, cameras, recording devices or laser pointers during performances.

No audio or video recording equipment is allowed in the venue unless specifically authorized by the artist.

Flash photography is not permitted at any event.
