The NASCAR Hall of Fame is home to a rotating exhibit that allows the Hall of Fame to personalize the experience for each guest.

It opened on May 11, 2010, and it honors drivers who have shown exceptional skill at NASCAR driving, all-time great crew chiefs and owners, and other major contributors to competition within the sanctioning body.

The 150,000 square feet (14,000 m2) museum is owned by the City of Charlotte, licensed by NASCAR and operated daily by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.
It includes a museum with interactive exhibits and a 278-person theater (which received a $200,000 upgrade in 2014) that has numerous videos. The second floor features a bar/restaurant called "The Speedway Club", as well as a banquet hall. The third floor houses the Hall of Honor where inductees are inducted each year; this floor also has an area for special exhibits. The ground floor has a NASCAR store and a large area for events such as auto shows.
The architect was Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. The building features an interactive theater with a huge screen that shows various videos from past races. There are also more than 50 interactive exhibits. There are also many displays that feature historic cars. One such car is the No. 3 Chevrolet Impala driven by Dale Earnhardt Sr..
The museum offers a "Race Week Experience" during Sprint Cup race weeks in Charlotte. Adjacent to the museum is the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza which includes monuments honoring NASCAR pioneers and other major contributors to the sport. In June 2018 it was announced that two new monuments
